Tin Can Lids, What To Make, What To Make?
- Using iPhone, Add photos is glitching this morning as I attempt to schedule this post. It says to sign in. I already am. Insert repeats over and over. The X to close the page does not respond. Ah, glitch over.
- And it is back.
The snowman is made from 2 tin can lids, scrap wood and other materials. A light application of glitter is over the entire piece to simulate sparkling snow.
For winter, I would decorate the hat with evergreens for a woodsy vibe.
Hot glue can be used. However, I used a strong Gorilla wood glue. Too many times on hard surfaces, hot glue hadn’t always held well.
The piece here has 3 body parts.
- 3 Rounded edges tin can lids of different sizes
- 1”x 4” x 12 inch pine board or any wood piece for the backing
- Acrylic paint a winter background on the wood, including the sides
- Paint the lids white
- Spread spackling compound on one side of the lids to resemble snow and paint white when spackling is dry
- Add feature using acrylic paint, laundry marker and fabric paint
- Glue snowperson pieces to the board
- Lightly dab white glue around and cover with glitter
